We are happy to announce the Special Issue “Inverse Problems, Numerical Methods and Artificial Intelligence” in the journal “Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences”.
This Special Issue aims to bring together high-quality research at the intersection of AI and inverse problems, with particular emphasis on methodological advances and innovative numerical solutions. We invite contributions that explore AI-enhanced reconstruction techniques, machine-learning-based regularization, data-driven forward and inverse models, and hybrid algorithms that combine learning with classical solvers. Through this Special Issue, we seek to highlight emerging trends, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and advance the mathematical foundations guiding the next generation of AI-driven inverse problem solvers.
We welcome high quality contributions in the fields as specified above. In particular, please, note that articles dealing with the numerical solution of engineering problems without new mathematical concepts are outside the scope of application.
